Losing the Republic: The Threat of Executive Power

The growth in the power of the executive brand of the American government threatens the very foundations of American democracy. The checks and balances built into the system are crumbling, and the United States suffers from a growing executive tyranny that most people mistakenly attribute to the errors of particular presidents, rather than recognizing it as a systematic problem. There are no simple solutions to this problem, but the first step in reaching any solution is to engage people and familiarize them with the problem’s existence, causes, and dangers.
