Webinar Series | American Muslim Poll 2020: Discrimination and Bullying

October 22, 2020 @ 3:00 pm 4:00 pm

Returning for its fifth year, American Muslim Poll 2020: Amid Pandemic and Protest surveys Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, white Evangelicals, and those that consider themselves non-affiliated to compare attitudes across faith and non-faith groups. ISPU’s poll charts the attitudes and policy preferences that animated the last year in America, lays the groundwork for tracking key shifts in the future, and offers the public, policymakers, and researchers rare depth and breadth of analysis.

This year’s poll, released shortly before a critical election, was meant to be historic. But when we began planning its release, we could not have imagined just how historic. Our March to April fielding period included the first four weeks of a country-wide shutdown in the wake of dramatically spiking cases of COVID-19.

In this webinar, study author and ISPU Director of Research Dalia Mogahed will share data on religious discrimination and bullying experienced by the general public, faith, and non-faith groups. We will present this data for 2020, as well as trends from the past 5 years. New in 2020, we will present data on institutional versus interpersonal religious discrimination.

Our speakers include:

  • Dalia Mogahed, ISPU Director of Research (Moderator)
  • Tahirah Amatul Wadud, Attorney and former political candidate
  • Dr. Sonia Ghumman, Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii and expert on workplace diversity and religious discrimination
  • Manar Waheed, ACLU Senior Legislative and Advocacy Counsel
