The idea that terrorists can and should be fought and defeated abroad “so we don’t have to face them here at home”, an idea that guided the Bush administration’s post-9/11 foreign policy, is no longer valid. With over 140 cases of domestic threats and episodes since September 11, 2001, the potential of homegrown terrorism cannot be understated or ignored.
