Iltefat Hamzavi is one of the founders of ISPU and member of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Hamzavi is the Vice President of Hamzavi Dermatology and its affiliate Dermatology Specialists. He also is on the faculty at Henry Ford Hospital's department of dermatology and an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University both in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Hamzavi has been selected as one of America's Best Doctors and is considered an international expert in several skin diseases. He serves on the boards of Crescent Academy International and the School of Arts and Sciences at Wayne State University. Dr. Hamzavi received his BA and M.D. from the University of Michigan.

Muzammil Ahmed is one of the founders of ISPU and a member of the Board of Trustees. He is also a clinical assistant professor at the Wayne State University Medical School. He currently serves at the Chief of Surgery at Oakwood Annapolis Hospital. He also serves on the boards of several non-profit community and interfaith organizations. Dr. Ahmed received his M.D. from the University of Michigan.

Farid Senzai is one of the founders of ISPU and a member of the Board of Trustees. He serves as the Director of Research at ISPU and is also an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Santa Clara University. Dr. Senzai was previously a research associate at the Brookings Institution, where he studied U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East, and a research analyst at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he worked on the Muslim Politics project. He served as a consultant for Oxford Analytica and the World Bank. Dr. Senzai is currently on the advisory board of The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life where he has contributed to several national and global surveys on Muslim attitudes. His recent co-authored book is Educating the Muslims of America (Oxford University Press, 2009). Dr. Senzai received a M.A. in international affairs from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in politics and international relations from Oxford University.

Afser Shariff is one of the founders of ISPU and a member of the Board of Trustees. He serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Physicians Angels and is a practicing otolaryngologist in Toledo Ohio. Dr. Shariff is actively involved in local and national healthcare organizations, serving in a number of roles at community hospitals in northwestern Ohio in addition to the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has developed and patented new processes in healthcare data management leading to the establishment of Physicians Angels. Physicians Angels has grown into providing human resource management tools, custom software development, and IT support for medical facilities throughout the USA and India. Dr. Shariff is an alumnus of Detroit's Henry Ford Hospital's Department of Otolaryngology and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.

Aamir Rehman is the Head of Strategy for Fajr Capital Ltd., a principal investment firm focused on attractive Muslim markets. He is the author of Dubai & Co.: Global Strategies for Doing Business in the Gulf States as well as Gulf Capital & Islamic Finance. Rehman was formerly the global head of strategy for HSBC Amanah, a worldwide business unit of the HSBC Group, serving more than 300,000 customers in major markets of the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States. Previously a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, he has advised clients in multiple industries regarding a wide range of strategic issues. Since 2008 he has been an adjunct scholar at the Middle East Institute, a Washington-based nonpartisan research organization. Rehman received a bachelor's degree, a master's degree in Middle Eastern studies and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

Mazen Asbahi is principal of Asbahi Law Group, Ltd., a boutique transactional law firm with offices in Chicago, Detroit and Washington, D.C. He practices in the areas of business, healthcare and nonprofit law and serves as general counsel to a number of businesses and nonprofit institutions, including ISPU. Recently, Mr. Asbahi served as the national outreach coordinator for Muslim Americans and Arab Americans for the Obama presidential campaign. Mr. Asbahi is an honors graduate of the University of Michigan and the Northwestern University School of Law. He received his principal legal training at the firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Nauman Imami is Director of the Glaucoma Service and Glaucoma Fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System. Dr. Imami is actively involved in research and was a principal investigator of for the landmark National Institutes of Health sponsored multi-center Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study. He has been recognized amongst the “Best Doctors in America.” Dr. Imami received his M.D. with honors at the University of Florida and his Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan.

Saima Siddiqui is a staffing and recruiting industry expert. Most
recently she served as Vice President at Mom Corps, an innovative
staffing firm that worked with Fortune 500 companies to develop flexible
staffing models. She has also worked on finance and community
development issues at the country’s pre-eminent community development
bank, Shorebank, where she focused on public-private partnerships and
the development of affordable housing. Ms. Siddiqui holds a Master of
Government Administration and a Master of City Planning from the
University of Pennsylvania.

Azeem Ibrahim is a Research Scholar at Harvard University and a member of the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy’s Dean’s International Council. Mr. Ibrahim has been named an ‘emerging World Leader’s by Yale in their World Fellows Program and a 'Top 100 Global Thinker' by the LSDP European Social Think Tank. His columns are regularly published around the world. He is also a multi-award winning entrepreneur and has started four charities the most recent of which is program dedicated to providing education in authentic Islamic teachings to help to reduce the appeal of perverse extremist narratives. Mr. Ibrahim holds an MBA, MSc in Strategic Studies and is finishing a Ph.D. in Geopolitical Strategy at Cambridge University.

Hena Khan is a communications consultant, writer, and editor with expertise in international public health. She has developed strategies to promote research dissemination and utilization for several non-profit organizations and projects including the Population Council, Demographic and Health Survey Program, and UNICEF. She is also the author of several children’s books including Night of the Moon: A Muslim Holiday Story, which was a 2009 Booklist Top 10 Religion Book for Youth. Ms. Khan received a M.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University.

Moheeb Murray is an attorney specializing in commercial litigation and insurance litigation matters. Mr. Murray serves on the boards of the charitable organization Zaman International and the Michigan Chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations. In addition, Mr. Murray is an active member of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, where he sits on the American Arab Professionals Network Committee and the Small Business Development Committee. Mr. Murray earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

Hamada Hamid is the Director for the CGH and Clinical Instructor in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry at Yale University. Dr. Hamid completed a dual residency in neurology and psychiatry and a Masters in Global Public Health at New York University, followed by a clinical research fellowship in epilepsy at Yale University. Dr. Hamid has published several articles and book chapters on neuropsychiatric illness, mental health policy in the Middle East, and the role of culture in mental illness across a diverse spectrum of Muslim populations. He is also the founding and current managing editor of the Journal of Muslim Mental Health. Dr. Hamid has served on the boards of Tamkeen, an Arab American social service agency, Muslim Mental Health, Inc., Muslim Family Services, and he is an affiliated faculty member for the Council of Middle East Studies at Yale University. Dr. Hamid was a Fulbright Fellow in Jordan (2002-3) and his essay "Developing Iraq's National Mental Health Policy" was awarded NYU's Outstanding Paper in Global Public Health Award. Dr Hamid received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Michigan State University.

Farhan Latif serves as a director in the Office of Institutional Advancement at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, where he is leading efforts to build a culture of philanthropy. He is also CEO of Strategic Inspirations, a marketing and consulting firm focused on the development of non-profit organizations. He has consulted with non-profits across the US in areas of strategic planning, fund raising, marketing and market research. As a community activist, Mr. Latif serves on the Commission for Community Affairs for the Mayor of Dearborn Heights, and is the recipient of numerous awards including the Leadership Service Award from the Michigan Senate and the Community & Metropolitan Impact Award. Mr. Latif is a fellow of the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute, a joint program of the University of Southern California and Georgetown University, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at the University of Michigan.
