The Institute for Social Policy and Understanding culminates our series
of policy briefs and events around the country exploring topics related
to the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 with our Annual Banquet in Michigan.
We will examine the role that ISPU has played in shaping the policy
debate on key issues over the last year, as well as how trailblazers
like our keynote speaker, Kamran Pasha, have broken down barriers and
helped to change the way the American public views Muslims in popular
media.
Event Keynote Speaker:
Kamran Pasha is a pioneer in the field, whose career has spanned news media, television, film and fiction novels. Kamran recently served as Co-Executive Producer and head writer for Disney’s new Tron animated television series. His other credits include serving as writer and producer on NBC’s remake of Bionic Woman, and on Showtime Network’s Golden Globe nominated series Sleeper Cell, about a Muslim FBI agent who infiltrates a terrorist group. Kamran’s books include Mother of the Believers and Shadow of the Swords. Kamran holds a BA and an MBA from Dartmouth College, a JD from Cornell Law School, and an MFA from UCLA Film School. Kamran continues to serve as a major Muslim voice in the media as a blogger on the Huffington Post.
